QuickDirect is a division of the BMC Mortgage Corporation. BMC was established in 1979 as a specialist mortgage lender and has helped tens of thousands of home owners and investors reach their goals over the past 28 years.
John Carson
John Carson has been in one form of mortgage finance, investment, mortgage banking and securitisation since 1966. He has worked with a range of well known companies including Finance Corporation of Australia (FCA), Citicorp, Barclays and Ord Minnett before landing at BMC in 1989. He has been Managing Director of BMC since 1990.
Hamish Carlisle
Hamish Carlisle has over 10 years financial services experience both in Australia and overseas and was Managing Director of QuickDirect prior to the merger with BMC. He is currently a Senior Portfolio Manager with AMP Capital Investors. Prior to QuickDirect, Hamish was a Senior Director with Merrill Lynch Equities Australia Ltd from 2002 to 2007 where he led the firm’s highly successful Australian Banks Team. Hamish has also held roles with Burdett Buckeridge Young, Juniper Financial in the US and National Australia Bank.
Hamish has a Masters of Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance & Investment from the Financial Services Institute of Australia and a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours from the University of Melbourne. Hamish is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia.
Ed Steadman
Ed Steadman has been a shareholder and Director of BMC since the 1980s. Ed has been involved in the mortgage broking, mortgage banking and investment banking areas since 1971.
Grace Chu
Grace Chu is the founder and Managing Director of FirstClick Consulting and acts as marketing advisor to QuickDirect. FirstClick Consulting was founded by Grace Chu in 2005. Grace has 12 years' experience in management consulting and marketing.

Most recently Grace was employed in a number of senior roles with eBay Australia, where she led e-commerce strategy and internet marketing activities aimed at buyer and seller acquisition, activation and retention. Prior to this Grace was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company where she worked with international clients to develop and implement strategies spanning sales and marketing and operational improvement. Grace has also been employed in a number corporate and agency marketing and PR positions.
Grace earned her Masters of Business Administration degree from the Wharton School in Philadelphia and her Bachelor of Business Administration from the National Taiwan University.
